Healing and remembering
Last weekend I went to see first hand, steel beams from 911, partially shrouded in an American flag, that were making their way to The Kitsap 911 Memorial in Western Washington. The truck hauling these massive, twisted, contorted beams has been making stops throughout the US as it makes it way to it’s final resting place. What struck me was not only how the intense heat had its effect on the steel beams but the crowd of people that had gathered. They came from all walks of life and I’m sure different political persuasions but shared the awe, respect for those who perished and deep patriotism for their country.
As I drove away I passed packs of motorcycles on their way to help escort the truck with its precious payload to its final destination. I felt a twinge of pride and thought God Bless America!
